Yoga Holiday in Algarve
Escape to southern Portugal where the climate is comfortable and sunny all year. In a quite and relaxing environment you get a mix of yoga and ayurvedic nutrition. You will get qualified yoga classes in a relaxed atmosphere. Beginner or experienced yogi does not matter, everyone is welcome. Yoga classes are adapted to the individuals in the group and the teachers are used to teach classes with participants on different levels.
Accommodation & food
The retreat is held at a charming villa. Here you will find a wonderful meditation garden, swimming pool, yoga platform and severl shaded terraces. Both interior and exterior is elegant. The rooms are spacious with high ceilings and floors and doors of mahogny. There is a total of 12 beds, 2 double rooms, 2 quadruple room. Bathrooms are shared. It is possible to stay ina single room with ensuite bathroom at a B6B about 300 meters from Quinta das Pedras.
The nearset beach is located about a 10 minute walk from Quinta das Pedras and most likely at least one of the yoga classes will be held there. If you walk another 10 minutes you will find several beautiful and hidden beaches.
You will be served tasty vegetarian meals, all based on auyrvedic nutrition. It will make you feel more energetic and lighter. But we can promise that you will not be hungry!
Yoga practioners on all levels are welcome, the classes are adpated to each individual.
Diana is teaching many of the yogaclasses and is also the hostess of the retreat. SHe was born and raised in the Swiss alps but after a lot of travelling she finally moved to south Portugal where "the sun warms my cold body and the atmosphere calms my restless mind".
Dianas goal is to help you forward after your own potential, just like the other teachers at the retreat. Diana has handpciked each one of them for their knowledge and ability to teach professional yoga classes.
Diana studied physical traning at ETH in Zurich and in time she became a qualified yoga instructor at Sivananda Ashram in Austria. She is also a nutrition specialist, educated at the School of Natural Health Science in Great Britain, ayurvedic health- and diet adviser at the International Society of Kamlesh Ayurveda, massage therapist in thaiyoga massage and Indian head massage at the Science of Yoga School in India as well as lifecoach at the School of Natural Health and Science. Her yoga classes hold high quality in a relaxed environment.
Lauren has been Dianas stand-in for many years when Diana, for some reason, har not been able to hold the retreats herself.
This week is focused on yoga only, compared to Dianas other retreats Yoga Detox and Yoga Surf. It is an "easier" and less strict week that includes a lot of yoga, delicious and healthy food, and a little less meditation than other weeks. You will learn the purpose of different asanas, their effect on a physic, mental and emotinal level as well as how you enter different postions and how you can look at your own position and that way correct yourself. The more advanced positions will not be avoided but you will learn how to make them easy and relaxed så that yoga will be fun and simple. You will be encouraged to do yoga on your own so will get to try that as well.
Morning classes contain meditation, breathingsessions and asanas. After breakfast you will go in to yoga from a more theoretical perspective (study positions and discuss filosophy). Afternoon classes contain Restorative yoga, Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra and other technics for deep relaxation.
During your free time you can realx in the garden or by the swimming pool, take a walk to the beach or book a massage or other treatments.

Travel & Facts
Travel: Fly to Faro. When you arrive to Faro you can book a taxi transfer or take a shuttle to the venue. More info will be provided after your booking.

Arrival Sunday afternoon, departure Saturday after breakfast
Included in the holiday: Accommodation 6 nights, vegetarian fullboard, yoga and the equipment needed for that. Bed linens and towels for indoor use.
Not included: Flights, transfer, activities and treatments that you choose to do in the free time.
